  • No School August 31st for a Teacher In-Service Day. 


Langauge Arts

There is a lot of housekeeping to do in each subject to get your child ready for our curriculum. Wit and Wisdom will start next week. This week in Language Arts, students will be reviewing the basics of writing. We will be adding to our Language Notebooks By completing the following pages:

  • Capitalization
  • Punctuation
  • Sentences
  • Quotations
  • Adjectives
  • Paragraph writing format
All of these topics will help the students become successful in the content expected from Wit and Wisdom. 

Social Studies 

This week we will be reviewing our Map skills. Students will be working together to use Map Legends, Map Scales, and their cardinal (N, S, E, W) and intermediate (NE, NW, SW, SE) directions to locate different places on a map. 

We also accessed our online textbook! We will start using the information within that resource soon.

9/18-9/22 Announcements: Monday, September 18th Safety Assembly Wednesday, September 20th   PTO Meeting Thursday, September 21st:  PTO Walkathon 6-8pm Friday, September 22nd: All students need to bring a smock for Art class. This week we will be starting a new book titled Love That Dog.  This book introduces what it means to have a great heart, figuratively, through poetry! Bloom Ball Project

Homework/Important Dates Monday 12/10- Friday 12/14: DRA's will be given to formally assess progress in reading comprehension as well as expression through read-aloud passages.
