ELA: End of Module Task
Students have completed their graphic organizers showing their opinion on whether or not the American Patriots were justified in fighting for their independence from Britain. Students will be given time this week to type their essays into Google Classroom. This is something we do each quarter to give all students practice typing a multi-paragraph essay since this will be a requirement on the upcoming state test.
Students will also be participating in station activities that include important review topics such as main idea and detail, text structure, quotation punctuation, and parts of speech. Through the stations, each child will receive a review of important test-taking strategies to use as well as a review of the topics where I am seeing deficits after grading class work.
Social Studies- Continued from last week:
Since we have covered all important events of the American Revolution including the colonists declaring independence as well as the Continental Congress meetings to develop the Articles of Confederation and the Constitution, we will be learning about the three branches of government that the Sons of Liberty developed. This week, students will be continuing to create a display of the three branches of government using a tree and listing the duties of each branch. To remember each branches job, we will be learning a song that goes to the tune of "If You're Happy and You Know It." Through this activity, all students will be able to understand and remember the basic principles the Sons of Liberty felt were important as they proceeded to develop our government's structure.
